Dirk graduated from the NZ School of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in Auckland with a Batchelor degree in Acupuncture after a 4 year study.
His research project in his final year involved women’s health, fertility and pregnancy. He has a strong interest in helping couples with fertility issues and assisting them with acupuncture through IVF treatments.
Dirk has worked locally for the last 5 years in conjunction with other health practitioners and has been involved with looking after rugby teams and treating their players for injuries. He has a very comprehensive understanding of treating muscular skeletal problems, acute and chronic pain.
He holds an international qualification of Kinesio taping to support his acupuncture treatments and give ongoing relief in between treatments to achieve quick results.
During his studies in Auckland he enrolled in Tuina (Chinese massage and soft tissue manipulation), Qigong and Taiji classes and qualified with National Diplomas in both.
Dirk has been living in Whangarei for the last 17 years and worked in Optometry before becoming and Acupuncturist. He enjoys the Northland beaches, swimming and keeping fit at the local Crossfit gym.
